Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University women's lacrosse team hosted Christopher Newport University for a mid-week matchup on Wednesday, falling 20-7.
CNU took early control with the first four goals of the game before junior Sarah Agrillo got the Saints on the board with her fifth goal of the season.
Less than a minute later, junior Emily Peters cut the Captains' lead in half, 4-2, with a free-position goal.
The Captains scored the final eight goals of the half, on the way to a 12-2 lead at halftime.
Agrillo and Peters, each, tallied a second goal in the second half, while the Saints, also, got goals from junior Taylor Young and sophomores Riley Love and Kaleigh Dunham.
CNU continued to maintain control through the second half, however, to take the win.
Junior Mariel Russ played all 60 minutes in goal for the Saints, making eight saves.
The Saints will next be in action on Wednesday, March 24 against Immaculata University to open Atlantic East Conference play. The first draw is set for 4 p.m.
