Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. - The Marymount University women's lacrosse team continued its hot streak on Saturday afternoon, rolling past DeSales University, 19-4, to move to 6-0 for the season.
With another high-scoring performance, the Saints have eclipsed 100 goals for the season, averaging 17 per game.
On Saturday, the scoring was coming from everywhere, as eight different Saints scored including five with at least three goals.
Leading the way was freshman Kaleigh Dunham, putting away a game-high four goals while junior Shea Smith and sophomores Taylor Young, Emily Peters and Sarah Agrillo all registered hat tricks.
Dunham and Smith joined freshman Riley Love to start the game with three-straight goals to take a lead that didn't falter the entire way. The scoring started with Dunham catching a quick pass from senior Madison Davis just 23 seconds into the game for the first goal.
Over the stretch of the half, the Saints used several runs to build up a 10-3 advantage at the break. In the first half, the Saints doubled the Bulldog shot attempts, 14-7.
The spread was even more in the second half, 22-6, as the Saints outscored DeSales 9-1. Young got the scoring underway to start the final 30 minutes, then Dunham went back-to-back to start a stretch of eight goals to close out the game.
Defensively, sophomore Caitlyn Dunn led a backfield that had 18 caused turnovers with a game-high four. Between the pipes, senior Meagan Gagon recorded six saves on 10 shots to earn her sixth win of the season.
The Saints remain home for their next contest, hosting Arcadia University at Long Bridge Park on Wednesday, March 11. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
