ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University women's lacrosse team closed out its regular season on Wednesday afternoon, falling to Cabrini University in an Atlantic East Conference contest, 20-8, at Long Bridge Park.

The Cavaliers took the opening draw straight to the goal to open the scoring in the first 12 seconds.

The Saints retaliated to even the score, as freshman Emily Peters took advantage of a man-up situation on a pass from senior Kelly Campbell, but the Cavaliers would go on a six-goal run to take a 7-1 lead.

Goals from seniors Jessica Crew and Bridgette Stacom cut the lead down to four, 7-3. Crew tallied her second to keep the deficit at four, after a Cabrini score, but another six-goal run for the Cavaliers gave them a 14-4 lead at halftime.

Crew led the team with three goals in the game, as she notched another in the second half.

Junior Eliana Cassel and freshman Taylor Young scored back-to-back goals to cut the Cavaliers lead to 16-7, but Cabrini remained in control the rest of the way.

Stacom notched the Saints' final goal, giving her 124 for her career and tying her for fourth in program history.

Cassel also reached a milestone in the game, recording the 100th ground ball of her career.

Senior Holly Reik played all 60 minutes in the cage for Marymount, making 16 saves.
