Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Marymount University women's lacrosse team picked up its fourth Atlantic East Conference victory on Saturday on the road, defeating Neumann University, 18-8.

Senior Jessica Crew continued her torrid pace this season, netting six goals and an assist for seven points in the game. Her goal total gives her 71 goals on the season, setting a new program record for goals in a season, which was previously help by SpringAnne Hatfield's 70 in 2008.

Junior Eliana Cassel gave the Saints a 1-0 lead with the game's first goal at the 25:26 mark on a free-position score.

The Knights responded with two goals to flip the lead, but Crew netted her first on an assist from senior Kelly Campbell to knot the score. Freshman Emily Peters regained the lead with an unassisted score.

Neumann again tied the score, 3-3, but senior Bridgette Stacom took a pass from freshman Taylor Young and capitalized to give the Saints the advantage for good at the 17:23 mark. Young then netted a free-position goal just over a minute later.

Crew and Campbell found the back of the net before the end of the half, as the team's traded scores and the Saints entered the half with a 7-5 lead.

At the break, the Saints held a 20-17 lead in shots and a 13-11 edge in ground balls, while the Knights held a slight advantage in draw controls, 7-6.

Campbell and Cassel netted back-to-back free-position goals to push the lead to 9-5 to start the second half, but the Knights again cut into the Saints' advantage with two-straight scores.

From there, the Saints would end the game on a 9-0 run to pull away, as Crew sparked things with her third goal.

Crew added three more goals in the run, while junior Madison Davis and sophomore Shea Smith each tallied two, and Stacom added one.

Campbell finished second on the team with four points on two goals and two assists. She is now tied for 11th in program history with 132 career points.

Stacom and senior Alex Delgado led the defense with two caused turnovers, each.

Senior Holly Reik played the entire game between the pipes, making 14 saves.

The Saints return home to Long Bridge Park on Wednesday, April 17, to close out their regular-season schedule against Cabrini University in an Atlantic East game; the opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
