Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Marymount women's lacrosse senior Abby Wescott finished the game with seven points on four goals and three assists, including the 100th goal of her career as the Saints remained unbeaten this season with an 18-13 road win over Elizabethtown Wednesday at Wolf Field.
Marymount (3-0) has now won six-straight games dating back to last season when the team won three in-a-row en route to winning the 2017 ECAC Division III Championship.
The program's all-time leading scorer, Wescott now has 248 career points with 101 goals and a school-record 147 assists. She is the second Saint to score her 100th career goal this season after junior Jessica Crew also did it in the season opener against Southern Virginia.
Marymount opened the game by scoring four of the first five goals, including two from Wescott and one from Crew, to take a 4-1 lead with less than eight minutes into the game. However, tyhe Blue Jays (1-2) responded with a 5-0 run to take a 6-4 lead after back-to-back free position goals by Madelyn Baker with 10:08 remaining in the first half.
Just like the start of the game, the Saints scored four of the final five goals of the first half, including two in the final 46 seconds to take an 8-7 lead at the half. Crew added two more goals during the run, finishing the half with three goals while Wescott had two goals and one assist.
The game would feature two more ties in the second half, the last coming at 11-11 on the second of back-to-back goals by Elizabethtown's Kate Ziegler just 42 seconds apart.
Marymount closed the game on a 7-2 run, scoring six-straight to take a 17-11 lead with 7:53 left with three of the goals coming from senior Kellen Cannon.
Six of the Saints' goals in the game came on the man-advantage as Elizabethtown was whistled for five yellow cards.
Crew finished the game with five goals while Cannon added four. Each totaled six draw controls. Defensively, junior Alex Delgado had three caused turnovers while junior Holly Reik totaled a season-high 14 saves for the second-straight game.
Marymount travels to Guilford on Saturday for a contest with the Quakers at noon.
