Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Sophomore Ibrahim Kamara put up a career-high 21 points and notched his second double-double of the year with 10 rebounds, but the Marymount men's basketball team fell in the final game of the season on Saturday afternoon, 71-60, to the University of Mary Washington.
Kamara shot 7-for-9 from the floor for the game, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Off his 10 rebounds, nine were on the defensive glass. He also added a tied game-high three assists with classmate Taiga Walker.
The score remained tight for much of the game, including three ties and four lead changes in the first half alone. Although the Saints stayed within striking distance through most of the second half, they reclaimed the advantage in the closing 20 minutes, as the Eagles pulled away late to get as much as a 15-point lead in the final two minutes.
Kamara was joined by junior Brandon Rogers and freshman Steve Etienne in double-digit scoring, as the two put away 11 and 15 points, respectively. Senior Dimitri Rucker had a rounded final game of his career, registering seven points, six rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and an assist.
The Saints finish the 2017-18 season with an 8-16 overall record, 7-10 in the CAC.
