Box Score YORK, Pa. – The Marymount men's basketball team stumbled to No. 7 York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon on the road, 81-58, in the CAC matchup.
The Saints fell behind early, trailing by 22 at the break after the Spartans got hot with 67.9-percent shooting. The deficit played out too much for MU to overcome in the second half, although the final 20-minute stretch played much more even. The Saints and Spartans played out a 34-33 second half.
Marymount shot 33.3 percent for the game, but hit more three-pointers than the opposition with seven long balls on 31.8-percent shooting. York commanded the paint, scoring 48 points inside while the Saints scored just 20.
Leading the scoring for MU for the day was freshman Kiran Durant, dropping in 13 points off the bench behind 5-of-11 shooting, while junior Brandon Rogers chipped in 12. Sophomore Ibrahim Kamara pulled down a team-high six rebounds, while Rogers tied a game-high four steals.
The Saints will look to bounce back as they continue on the road next Wednesday, January 31 at Southern Virginia. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m., in Buena Vista.
