Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount men's basketball senior Dimitri Rucker scored a game-high 18 points and Ibrahim Kamara totaled 15 points and nine rebounds, but Salisbury rallied from a 16-point deficit to escape Verizon Sports Arena with a 74-62 CAC victory Wednesday.
The Saints (6-12, 5-6 CAC) built its largest lead of the season at 16 points, 36-20, on a layup by Rucker with 2:46 remaining in the first half. He finished the half with 17 points while sophomore Ibrahim Kamara totaled 10 points and six rebounds as Marymount led by 13 at the break, 41-28.
The Saints shot 58.3 percent from the floor in the first half (14-24) and were 12-of-15 from the free throw line for 80.0 percent.
Meanwhile, the Sea Gulls (13-5, 9-2 CAC), who are tied atop the CAC standings with York (Pa.), were just 9-of-29 for 31.0 percent. They also had just seven attempts from the free throw line where they made six. Chad Barcikowski, the team's leading scorer at 16.3 points per game, was also limited to just two points in seven minutes with two fouls.
However, the second half saw the two teams switch places as Salisbury outscored Marymount 46-21, using a 22-9 run over the first 10 minutes to tie the game at 50. The Sea Gulls shot 51.9 percent from the floor (14-27) and were 16-of-22 from the free throw line while the Saints were just 6-for-18 from the floor (33.3 percent), including 1-for-12 from three-point range.
Barcikowski scored 15 points and was 6-of-8 from the line while Johnny Fierstein added 10 points.
For Marymount, Rucker managed only one second-half point after picking up four fouls and playing just eight minutes.
For the game, Salisbury converted 23 Saint turnovers into 24 points and got 27 points off its bench.
Junior Brandon Rogers had seven points and five rebounds while freshman Steve Etienne totaled six points and a career-high nine rebounds.
Marymount travels to York (Pa.) on Saturday for a CAC contest with the Spartans beginning at 3 p.m. York won the previous meeting, 88-76, back on December 9.
