Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. – A strong second half wasn't enough for the Marymount men's basketball team to make a late comeback in the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Consolation game on Sunday afternoon, falling to No. 5 Ramapo, 80-67.
Although they fell behind early and never led in the game, a valiant second half spurred the Saints back into contention by the 12:32 mark when sophomore Ibrahim Kamara caught a dish from freshman Steve Etienne for the layup and just a 13-point deficit.
Still outscoring the Roadrunners, 40-32, and posting a 44.8 shooting percentage compared to 40.6 by Ramapo, Marymount couldn't overcome the 21-point deficit at the half.
Senior Dimitri Rucker, who went 6-for-8 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the line, posted a game-high 18 points to go with five rebounds, while junior Brandon Rogers added 13 points including 3-for-6 from deep range and a tied game-high six rebounds.
Following the tournament, Etienne was named to the All-Tournament team after totaling 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals through the two games.
The men will take the week to prepare for another non-conference contest, traveling to Bridgewater (Va.) on Sunday, November 26. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
