GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Marymount women's volleyball wrapped up their stint at the Battlefield Classic, hosted by Gettysburg College, on Saturday.

Splitting the day, the Saints head home with a 2-2 record early on in the year.

Elizabeth Stackpole opened the Saints' scoring with a kill from Emerson Aber, and a block by Angela McKenzie and Brigid Donahue helped the visitors move ahead 2-0 before Hailey LaBonte's ace and Eliana Knaub's kill pushed the lead to 8-3. Buffalo St. cut it to 10-7, but the Saints continued to answer with kills from Stackpole, Donahue, Knaub and Sabrina Schoeberlein, and Kate Craver's ace made it 19-14. After Schoeberlein's kill and a block by Stackpole and Knaub put the Saints ahead 23-17, Buffalo St. scored two straight points, but Knaub's kill and Stackpole's final kill from Aber closed the set 25-20.

The Saints scored first on a Stackpole kill from Aber and were even at 2-2 after Knaub's kill, but Buffalo St. scored four straight points to move ahead 6-2. After a service error made it 6-3, Buffalo St. put together eight consecutive points, with Ella Wittman recording four kills during the stretch, to build a 14-3 lead. The Saints found a run later in the set when Stackpole served them from 19-8 to 19-12 with two aces and blocks involving McKenzie and Donahue. Buffalo St. answered with three straight points to go up 23-12, and although Knaub added a late kill as the Saints reached 16, Buffalo St. closed the set 25-16.

After Buffalo St. built a 4-1 lead, the Saints pulled even at 4-4 with a kill by McKenzie, a Buffalo St. attack error and Aber's service ace. Buffalo St. moved back in front, and after Knaub's kill and another Buffalo St. error got the Saints within 7-6, the home side used six straight points to stretch an 8-6 lead to 14-6. Schoeberlein's kill and a Buffalo St. error briefly interrupted the run, but after the Saints reached 9 points on a Delia Lake attack error, Buffalo St. scored six straight again to move ahead 22-9. Stackpole added a kill and teamed with Layla Scott on a block late, and Scott added another block before Avery Rymer's kill closed Buffalo St.'s 25-12 set win.

The Saints trailed 15-9 in the fourth set before a Buffalo St. service error gave them the serve, and Aber helped carry a six-point run with a Donahue kill, a service ace, a Knaub kill and a block by McKenzie and Knaub that tied the set at 15-15. Buffalo St. briefly moved back in front, but the Saints answered through Donahue and Schoeberlein kills before a Renae Rohrer ace and a Stackpole block helped them build a 21-18 lead. Buffalo St. came back to tie the set at 22-22, and after Donahue put the Saints ahead 23-22, Buffalo St. scored the final three points on a Delaney McCarthy kill, a Saints attack error and an Ella Wittman kill to take the set 25-23.

The Saints built an early 4-1 lead on Elizabeth Stackpole's kill from Emerson Aber and Kate Craver's service ace, but Lycoming worked back to 5-5 and later moved in front 8-7. Eliana Knaub's ace put the Saints ahead 9-8, and after Lycoming tied it at 9-9, the Saints scored the next eight points with kills from Sabrina Schoeberlein, Stackpole and Brigid Donahue and an Ava Humphries ace during the push to 17-9. The Saints added another six-point stretch from 17-11 to 23-11, including kills by Angela McKenzie and Alexis Bumah and a block by McKenzie and Bumah. Lycoming scored six straight after Renae Rohrer's kill made it 24-14, but McKenzie's kill from Braelyn Ottolini closed the set for the Saints, 25-20.

After the teams traded early points, the Saints moved ahead 7-4 behind kills from Donahue and Schoeberlein, plus a block by Knaub and Stackpole. Lycoming pulled within 7-6, but Stackpole and Donahue added kills around a Stackpole-Donahue block as the Saints pushed the margin to 11-7. Aber served back-to-back aces for a 14-8 lead, and Knaub's kill made it 16-9 before Lycoming later cut the gap to 18-15 with help from two Emi Wenger kills. The Saints answered with three straight points, including kills by Stackpole and Hope Parker, then closed the set with a Donahue kill, a Lycoming attack error and Aber's third ace for a 25-18 win.

The Saints built a 5-1 lead in the third set behind kills from Schoeberlein and McKenzie during Caylee Walsh's service turn, but Lycoming answered with five straight points, including two Alli Macensky aces, to move ahead 6-5. The teams traded points through the middle of the set, with the Saints getting kills from Parker, Donahue, Stackpole and Schoeberlein as the score moved through ties at 13-13, 16-16, 17-17 and 19-19. After Rohrer's kill and a Lycoming attack error put the Saints ahead 21-19, Lycoming scored the next three points to take a 22-21 lead. Donahue's kill tied it at 22-22 and Aber's ace put the Saints back in front, and after Lycoming tied the set at 23-23, Aber's kill and a Lycoming attack error closed a 25-23 set win.
