HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Marymount baseball (27-17, 11-7) reclaimed the Atlantic East trophy Sunday afternoon, winning the defining game seven over the hosting #1 seed, Centenary University (20-24, 12-7).
With the win, the Saints earn their second-straight berth into the NCAA Tournament, their third trip overall in program history.Â

Marymount and Centenary each scored in the third inning, with the home team striking first.
Seth Sadler was hit by a pitch and advanced to third on a pair of bunt singles from
Gray Ellenburg and
Joshmar Carbonell.
Quincy Via brought Sadler home with a sacrifice fly to left field, tying the game at 1–1 after Centenary had scored on a fielder's choice. Score tied, 1–1, through the third inning.
Centenary took control in the fifth inning. Myles Castillo hit a double to left center, driving in two runs. Castillo later scored on a balk, putting the visitors ahead 4–1. The Saints could not capitalize in their half, leaving the score at 4–1 through five innings.
In the eighth inning, the Saints mounted a comeback attempt.
Evan Schick drew a walk, and Cuadros followed with a triple to right center, scoring Schick. Farmakides then doubled to left center, bringing Cuadros home and narrowing the gap to 4–3. Centenary held on to their lead though, 4–3, after eight innings.
Centenary extended its lead in the ninth inning when Nick Friscia scored on a single by Joseph Frei. The Saints were unable to respond in the bottom half, leading to a final score of Centenary 5, Saints 3.

Marymount opened the scoring in the first inning with
Ryan Cuadros delivering an RBI single to bring in Woodring, who had reached base on a walk and stole second. Centenary responded with four runs in their half following a series of hits and a fielder's choice, taking a 4-1 lead after the first inning.
In the second inning,
Seth Sadler singled and scored on a double by Carbonell. An error allowed Carbonell to score, narrowing the gap. Centenary added two more runs in their half to maintain a 6-3 lead after two innings.
Marymount added a run in the third when Farmakides grounded out, allowing
Evan Schick to score after his leadoff ground-rule double. Centenary managed one unearned run, bringing the score to 7-4 in favor of Centenary after three innings.
Marymount tied the game in the fourth inning.
Gray Ellenburg, Carbonell, and
Quincy Via all singled to load the bases. Woodring walked to bring in one run, and a sacrifice fly by Swekosky and an RBI groundout by Schick scored two more, tying the game at 7-7.
Marymount surged ahead in the fifth inning. Farmakides hit a solo home run, and Swekosky's grand slam capped off a six-run inning, making it 13-7. Centenary was held scoreless in their half.
In the sixth, the Saints extended their lead with a sacrifice fly by Via and a subsequent run by Carbonell, increasing the advantage to 15-7. Centenary did not score in the bottom of the sixth.
Centenary cut into the lead in the eighth inning with a solo home run by Dominick Chiego and another run later, but the Saints' lead was too large to overcome. The final score was Marymount 15, Centenary 9, giving Marymount the Atlantic East Championship.
