SOFT: Team Drops Road Double Header

FREDERICK, Md. -- Marymount University women's softball team took on a non conference opponent this Tuesday afternoon. The Saints went toe-to-toe with Hood in a double header that ended in two losses for the Saints. 

 HOOD 10 MARYMOUNT 6

  • Marymounts middle of the order delivered big production, highlighted by a dominant 4-for-4 performance with three doubles and four RBI from the cleanup spot, driving the offense and consistently producing in key situations.
  • Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira went 1-for-4 with a clutch two-RBI double, doing damage with runners in scoring position.
  • Grace Gilbert worked a walk and contributed defensively at third base, helping stabilize the infield despite a tough day at the plate
  • Samantha Richtol picked up a hit in four at-bats and put the ball in play consistently, adding pressure offensively.
  • Samantha Papp scored a run and went 1-for-3, providing a spark near the bottom of the lineup
  • Mady Archer battled through two at-bats in center, while Ashleigh Mannion added a pinch-hit appearance off the bench.
  • Bailey Demusz got the start in the circle, facing early adversity in the opening inning.
  • Emma McCormack provided strong relief, going 6.0 innings while allowing just three earned runs and striking out three, helping settle things down and give Marymount a chance to compete.

  • Gracie Himmelman set the tone at the top of the lineup, starting in left field and providing steady presence defensively while sparking opportunities offensively.
  • Haylee Carpenter handled second base duties and hit near the top of the order, contributing with her consistency and field awareness.
  • Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira anchored the lineup in the three spot while also serving as a key option in the circle, showcasing her dual-threat ability.
  • Kaylee Atkins held down first base and hit cleanup, playing a central role in the offense with her power presence.
  • Samantha Richtol managed the game behind the plate at catcher, guiding the pitching staff and adding depth in the middle of the order.
  • Grace Gilbert contributed at third base, providing stability on the infield and supporting the offense in the sixth spot.
  • Ashleigh Mannion started in right field and added energy to the lineup, with Haley Greer stepping in as a pinch hitter to provide a spark off the bench.
  • Tara Corcoran covered shortstop, playing a key role defensively up the middle while contributing offensively from the lower half of the lineup.
  • Mady Archer patrolled center field, bringing range and athleticism, while Samantha Papp added a pinch-hit appearance to bolster the offense.
  • Morgan Maslock appeared in the circle, adding depth to the pitching staff and helping manage innings for Marymount.
