ARLINGTON, Va. — Marymount women's lacrosse battled in a tightly contested match up Wednesday evening but ultimately fell just short, dropping a 9-8 decision to Randolph-Macon at Long Bridge Park. The Saints move to 3-1 on the season after the back-and-forth contest. 

NOTABLE

• Tess Valentino led the Saints offensively with four goals, pacing Marymount's attack throughout the contest. 
• Mackenzie Morrissette recorded a strong all-around performance with three goals and two assists for a five-point outing. 
• Carmella Garcia added a goal while also helping control the midfield with seven draw controls. 
• Kaylee Heath also tallied an assist.
• Alexandra Mayo had a strong defensive outing, causing three turnovers throughout the match.
• In goal, Ava Vautour made nine saves across the full 60 minutes of action. 
• Marymount held the advantage in draw controls (11-7) and converted two of three free-position opportunities.

Marymount returns home this Saturday, hosting Lebanon Valley College at Long Bridge Park. Opening draw is set for 12 PM.
