ASTON, Pa. — Marymount women's lacrosse dropped its Atlantic East opener on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 15-9 to Neumann. After a slow start, the Saints settled in and showed a much stronger push over the final three quarters, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
NOTABLE
- Carmella Garcia, Kaylee Heath, Natalia Ortiz, and Tess Valentino each scored twice to lead the Saints, with Adrina Cantarelli adding another.
- Ortiz paced the offense with two goals and one assist, totaling three points, while Brooke Bretney also recorded an assist.
- Anna Geiger controlled the midfield with a team-high 4 draw controls, while Jillian Blair added three ground balls to lead the Saints on the defensive end.
- Cantarelli and Ortiz each caused a turnover, helping disrupt Neumann possessions, while five different Saints recorded caused turnovers overall.
- Ava Vautour anchored the defense with 20 saves, keeping Marymount within reach.

Marymount will look to bounce back Friday as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on Chatham. Opening draw is set for 5:00 PM.
