SOFT: Team Falls in Doubleheader

WASHINGTON, DC. -- Marymount University women's softball team played at Nationals Youth Academy this Thursday afternoon in a double header against the Oswego State Lakers.

OSWEGO 6 MARYMOUNT 0

  • Mady Archer led the offense with Marymount's only hit of the game, going 1-for-3 while making consistent contact at the plate
  • Haylee Carpenter reached base with a walk and added a strong defensive performance with 4 assists at second base
  • Grace Gilbert showed patience at the plate, drawing a walk to help create one of Marymount's few scoring opportunities
  • Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira contributed a walk offensively and was active in the field with 2 putouts and 2 assists
  • Samantha Richtol anchored the defense behind the plate with 9 putouts and threw out a runner attempting to steal
  • Kaylee Atkins was reliable at first base, finishing with 4 putouts and 1 assist
  • Gracie Himmelman added a sacrifice bunt and handled her defensive chances cleanly in the outfield
