ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount University women's softball team had a successful Sunday at Barcroft Park with a sweep over opponent Methodist.
 

MARYMOUNT 6 METHODIST 5

• Kaylee Atkins had a huge day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, 2 RBIs, and 1 run scored, leading the Saints offense.
• Haylee Carpenter contributed at the top of the lineup, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored, helping spark multiple scoring innings.
• Gracie Himmelman added 1 hit in 3 at-bats and also stole a base, helping create pressure on the bases.
• Tara Corcoran delivered a key moment with an RBI single that brought home Mady Archer, adding to the Saints run total.
• Mady Archer helped generate offense by drawing a walk and scoring a run, setting up scoring opportunities for the lineup behind her.
• Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira reached base with a walk and contributed to offensive pressure while playing shortstop defensively.
• Haley Greer handled catching duties and recorded 5 putouts behind the plate, helping manage the pitching staff and defense.
• Ashleigh Mannion contributed with a sacrifice bunt to move runners into scoring position during a key rally.
• Bailey Demusz pitched a complete 7-inning game, allowing 4 hits while striking out 5, helping secure the win in the circle.

MARYMOUNT 5 METHODIST 4

• Gracie Himmelman led the Saints at the plate, going 2-for-4 and helping spark the offense with multiple hits from the top of the lineup.
• Haylee Carpenter added a key single and continued to put pressure on the defense from the leadoff spot.
• Ashleigh Mannion delivered a clutch moment with 1 hit and 1 RBI, helping drive in an important run for Marymount.
• Valeria Gutierrez De Oliveira contributed with a sacrifice fly RBI, bringing Morgan Maslock home to get the Saints on the board.
• Morgan Maslock not only scored a run, but also threw a complete-game effort in the circle, pitching 8 innings with 4 strikeouts while keeping the Saints in control.
• Gracie Himmelman and Haylee Carpenter combined for key late hits that helped set up scoring chances during Marymounts rally innings.

UP NEXT:

• The Saints have a quick turn around, facing off against Messiah University this Tuesday.
• The double header is scheduled to start at 2:30 PM.
