SOFT: Saints Split Double Header Against Sweet Briar

Sweet Briar, Va. -- Marymount's softball took to the road this Sunday after a grand victory over Randolph Macon yesterday. The Sunday double header ended in a split for the Saints, falling to Sweet Briar in game one while dominating in game two. 

SWEET BRIAR 8 - MARYMOUNT 3

  • Gracie Himmelman delivered the biggest swing of the day for Marymount, going 2-for-4 with a team-high 2 RBIs, consistently putting pressure on the defense and driving in key runs when opportunities appeared.
  • Ashleigh Mannion sparked the offense near the top of the lineup, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored, setting the tone with disciplined at-bats and getting on base at a high clip.
  • Mady Archer made the most of limited chances, posting 1 hit, 1 RBI, and a walk in just 2 at-bats, showing patience at the plate and contributing to run production.
  • Samantha Richtol chipped in with 1 hit and 1 run scored, helping keep innings alive and applying steady offensive pressure.
  • Kaylee Atkins also crossed the plate for Marymount, recording 1 hit and 1 run, contributing to the teams overall offensive output.
  • In the circle, Bailey Demusz carried the bulk of the pitching load, throwing 4.0 innings with 2 strikeouts, battling through traffic and keeping the game within reach during the middle frames.

MARYMOUNT 15 - SWEET BRIAR 5

  • Samantha Papp turned in a dominant performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 3 RBIs, igniting the offense and constantly finding ways to get on base and come around to score.
  • Gracie Himmelman was nearly perfect in limited chances, finishing 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, delivering clutch contact whenever the team needed it.
  • Haley Greer provided serious middle-of-the-order production, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a walk, helping sustain rallies and drive in key runs.
  • Grace Gilbert stuffed the stat sheet with 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs, playing a major role in Marymount's most productive innings.
  • Haylee Carpenter matched that output with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs, showing depth in the lineup and keeping pressure on the defense from top to bottom.
  • Kaylee Atkins added another strong showing, posting 2 hits and 2 runs scored, consistently getting into scoring position.
  • Mady Archer contributed early momentum with 1 hit and 2 RBIs, helping set the tone for the offensive surge.
  • In the circle, Morgan Maslock handled the pitching duties with 5.0 innings and 3 strikeouts, grinding through tough moments and keeping the team competitive deep into the game.
