BRIDGEWATER, Va. — The Marymount women's lacrosse team remained unbeaten on the season, improving to 4-0 with a hard-fought 9-7 victory over Bridgewater on Tuesday afternoon. The Saints used a strong middle stretch and balanced scoring to build a lead, then withstood a late Eagles push to secure the road win.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Marymount struck first behind Jillian Blair, but Bridgewater responded with two quick goals to take an early 2-1 advantage. The Saints flipped the momentum in the second quarter, scoring four times, including two man-up goals, to take control and enter halftime ahead 5-3.Â
The Saints extended their lead in the third quarter, highlighted by goals from Mackenzie Morrissette, Blair, and Carmella Garcia to push the margin to four. Bridgewater mounted a late comeback in the fourth, scoring three straight to cut the deficit to one, but Garcia's final goal provided the cushion Marymount needed to close out the 9-7 victory.Â

- Jillian Blair and Tess Valentino led the offense with three goals each, combining for six of Marymount's nine tallies.Â
- Carmella Garcia recorded two goals and an assist, including the decisive fourth-quarter score.
- Mackenzie Morrissette added a goal while contributing on the defensive end with caused turnovers.Â
- Ava Vautour anchored the Saints in goal with eight saves to earn the win.Â
- Marymount controlled the draw circle, winning 12 draw controls to Bridgewater's seven, helping maintain possession in key moments.
