BASE: Saints Walk Off Game Two Against Lycoming

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount baseball headed back to their old turf, playing a pair against Lycoming College at Bishop O'Connell High School, the home field for the Saints in its early year.

Dropping a pitchers' dual in the opening contest, the Saints battled back in game two to earn a walk off win and move to 2-2 on the young season.

LYCOMING 1 - MARYMOUNT 0
  • Anthony Farmakides and Evan Schick each knocked a pair of hits in the first game of the day, with Schick adding a double.
  • Jay Wandell tossed 5.0 strong innings on the mound, allowing just one earned run while striking out three.
  • Gavin Elliot put up 2.0 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit.
MARYMOUNT 9 - LYCOMING 0

  • The Saints took the lead in the bottom of the sixth with the help of a two-run double off the bat of Gray Ellenburg. Woodring pushed across another run to give Marymount a two-run cushion.
  • After the Warriors evened up the tally in the top of the seventh, Schick knocked an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to retake the lead.
  • Marymount jumped ahead 8-to-5 in the bottom of the eighth, highlighted by an RBI single from Ryan Cuadros.
  • The Warriors tied it up in the top of the ninth, forcing the Saints to head to the plate with a chance to walk it off.
