BUENA VISTA, Va. — The Marymount men's lacrosse team opened its 2026 campaign with a hard-fought battle, tallying nine goals and 44 ground balls in a competitive contest. Despite strong individual performances on both ends of the field, the Saints ultimately fell after surrendering 18 goals in the match up.
NOTABLE
- James Elko led the Saints offensively with a four-goal performance, firing seven shots on the day.
- Drew Bedard added two goals on a team-high 10 shots.
- Ian Fructuoso, James Doss, and Matthew Kurczeski each found the back of the net.
- Santino Rossitto, Jacob Brooks, Chris Lasky, Braden Miller, Ian Fructuoso, and Brady Fitzgerald all contributed assists, as Marymount totaled six helpers as a team.
- At the faceoff X, Winston Horshaw II went 16-for-20, giving the Saints key possession advantages throughout the contest.
- Defensively, Marymount scooped up 44 ground balls, with Horshaw leading the way with 12.
