MORRISTOWN, N.J. — The Marymount women's basketball team opened Atlantic East Conference play in dominant fashion on Wednesday night, cruising to a 90-57 road victory over Saint Elizabeth at St. Joseph's Hall.
How It Happened
Marymount wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a 24–12 lead after the opening quarter. The Saints continued to apply pressure in the second period, extending the margin to 43-19 at halftime. Coming out of the break, Marymount maintained its momentum, outscoring Saint Elizabeth 22-21 in the third quarter before closing the game with a 25-15 fourth frame. The Saints shot 59.4 percent from the field for the game and finished with a commanding 54 points in the paint.
Notable
- Cara Vollmer led all scorers with 21 points, knocking down 7-of-10 shots and going 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
- Catie Kolwey posted a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, adding four blocks on the defensive end.
- Kaylah Barr matched Kolwey with 14 points while shooting 7-of-12 from the floor.
- Elsa Meysselle contributed 10 points and pulled down a team-high 16 rebounds to anchor the Saints on the glass.
