ARLINGTON, Va. — A dominant fourth quarter lifted the Marymount women's basketball team to a 69-60 Atlantic East Conference victory over Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday evening inside the Converse Family Fieldhouse. The Saints closed the night on a 27-point final period to improve to 6-1 in conference play.
How It Happened
Marymount set the tone early, jumping out to a first-quarter lead before Gwynedd Mercy answered with a strong third quarter to take a brief advantage. With the game tied and momentum swinging late, the Saints locked in defensively and surged ahead in the fourth quarter. Marymount outscored the Griffins 27-15 in the final ten minutes, using pressure defense, fast-break opportunities, and clutch finishes at the rim to seal the win.
