ARLINGTON, Va. — The Marymount women's basketball team continued its strong Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday afternoon, pulling away in the second half to secure a 79-66 victory over Saint Elizabeth at the Converse Family Fieldhouse. The win improves the Saints to 7-1 in conference action and keeps them rolling at home.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Elizabeth came out hot in the opening quarter, but Marymount responded with efficiency on the offensive end and steady defensive pressure to swing momentum before halftime. The Saints shot over 57 percent from the field in both the first and second quarters, taking a 42-36 lead into the break. Marymount maintained control throughout the third quarter before pulling away in the fourth, outscoring the Eagles 20-17 to seal the win.
NOTABLE
- Chandler Eddleton led all Saints with 22 points on an efficient 11-of-14 shooting performance.
- Kaylah Barr followed closely with 20 points, adding five rebounds and three free throws.
- Catie Kolwey recorded 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds, anchoring the Saints inside.
- Marymount finished the game shooting 57.1% from the floor and out-rebounded Saint Elizabeth 51-33, dominating the paint with 42 points inside.
