TOWSON, Md. -- Marymount women's soccer stayed perfect to open the season with a dominant 5-0 road victory over Goucher College on Wednesday afternoon at Beldon Field. With the win, the Saints improve to 2-0-0, while the Gophers fall to 0-3-0.
NOTABLEÂ
- Arianna Blanco recorded her first career hat trick, scoring in the 7th, 53rd, and 70th minutes to lead the Saints' attack.
- Arianna Garcia tallied a goal and an assist, finding the net in the 65th minute before assisting Eliza Diggs two minutes later.
- Nicole Alvarado picked up two assists, setting up Blanco's first two strikes.
- Marymount outshot Goucher 22-3 and held a commanding 7-0 edge in corner kicks.
- The Saints' defense combined for a clean sheet, with goalkeepers Mara Dufour and Layne Kaufman each making a save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints wasted little time taking control as Blanco buried the opening goal in the 7th minute off a pass from Alvarado.
- Marymount's offense erupted after halftime, scoring four times in an 18-minute stretch.
- Blanco doubled the lead in the 53rd, again assisted by Alvarado.
- Garcia extended the margin with an unassisted finish in the 65th before feeding Diggs for the Saints' fourth goal just two minutes later.
- Blanco capped the scoring in the 70th minute, completing her hat trick and sealing the 5-0 result.
- The backline locked down defensively, limiting the Gophers to just three total shots and two on target across the 90 minutes.

- Marymount will hit the road again this weekend and travel to Pittsburgh, opening with a Saturday matchup at Saint Vincent College and closing on Sunday against the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
