TYSONS, Va. -- Behind a complete game shutout from right-hander
David Muirhead, Marymount baseball won game one of the Atlantic East Baseball Tournament on Wednesday afternoon, 4-0.
The Saints will move into the winner's bracket as they will host the rest of the Tournament at Kevin Anderson Field in Winchester.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ryan Cuadros got the Saints on the board in the first inning with an RBI double, scoring Jack McCarthy who singled earlier in the frame.
- The Saints extended their lead with Andrew Schaeb scoring to put Marymount up 2-0.
- Bobby Leitzel shot the lead to three in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single, followed by a walked-in run to take a four-run lead into the ninth.
- Starter Muirhead finished what he started, going the distance without allowing a run with eight total punchouts.
- Leitzel, Schaeb, McCarthy, and Cuadros each had a pair of hits in the Tournament win.
- Kevin Knoess, Jonathan McMath, Daniel Fernandez, and Jordan Dickson each added hits.
- McCarthy and Cuadros both had a double.
