Women's Track and Field Wins AEC Championship

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - As the season comes to a close, both the men's and women's team competed this weekend in the Atlantic East Championships. The Saint's put on a stellar perfromance on both sides, with the women claiming first place and the men landing in second. 

NOTABLE RESULTS

  • The women finished first overall with a total of 188 points.
  • Ilana Hawkins ran to second place in the women's 100m race with a time of 12.99.
  • Deziree Conklin hurdled her way into first, with a time of 15.55 in the women's 100m hurdles. 
  • Marymount's very own, Madeleine Pare, earned second place in the women's 3000m steeple race with a time of 13:30.40.
  • Illana Hawkins dominated again in the women's 200m, crossing the finish line in 26.03.
  • Brier Amerlinck earned the Saints eight points with her second place finish in the women's 10000m.
  • The relay team of Roscetti, Hawkins, Aber, and Conklin earned first place in the women's 4 X 100m relay, where the team ran a 50.97.
  • Abby Hughes claimed second in the women's 1500m.
  • Illana Hawkins claimed first one again in the women's 400m, running a time of 59.09.
  • Abby Hughes claimed second one again, this time in the women's 800m with a time of 2:31.83.
  • Deziree Conklin get's another first place under her belt in the women's 400m hurdles, crossing the line with a time of 1:09.08.
  • Another relay team earns Marymount a first place, this time a team of  Hawkins, Pare, Hughes, and Conklin earn ten points in the women's 4 X 400m relay. 
  • Esther Paz earned first place in pole vault. 
  • Isabella Rivera earned the Saints eight points with her second place shot put throw.
  • The Saint women swept the hammer throw, with Isabella Rivera earning first place, Shayla Wynder claiming second, and Marisa Roscetti earning third. 
  • The men finished in second with a total of 141 points, falling just short of Marywood. 
  • On the men's side, Samuel Struggs finished third in the men's 100m with a time of 11.22.
  • Bryan Bivens earned first place in the men's 110m hurdles with time of  16.592, earning Marymount 10 points. 
  • Samuel Struggs ran to second place in the men's 200m with a time of 22.66.
  • Marymount's 4 X 100m relay team claimed second, a team consisting of Williams, Struggs, McFarlin, and McEachern.
  • Reuben McEachern ran to third place for the Saints in the men's 400m with a time of 52.03.
  • Claiming first, Reuben McEachern ran a 57.17 in the men's 400m hurdles.
  • Marcone Pesso jumped into second place in the men's high jump, covering a distance of 5'8.75".
  • In men's long jump, Henry McFarlin dominated and claimed second with a jump of 6.44m.
  •  The Saints swept the men's triple jump, with Samuel Struggs earning the Saints first place, Kyle Falls earning second, and Henry McFarlin earning third. 

UP NEXT

The Saint's hit the track again on May 14rd and 15th for the AARTFC Championships, which will be held in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
