TYSONS, Va. -- Marymount baseball showed up to the plate in the opener of their three-game series, taking down the Mighty Macs of Immaculata by a final tally of 11-1.

The Saints improve to 21-17 overall on the season with the win, now sitting comfortably at 11-2 in conference play.

NOTABLE
  • With his stolen bag in the first inning, Quincy Via tied the all-time stolen base record in Marymount baseball history.
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Immaculata scored a lone run in the top of the second, but the Saints answered in the bottom of the third with an eight-run outburst, highlighted by two-RBI doubles off the bats of Andrew Schaeb and Jack McCarthy, followed by a two-RBI single from Daniel Fernandez.
  • In the bottom of the sixth, Ryan Cuadros smacked a two-run home run over the right center field wall to give Marymount the final tally of 11-1.
  • David Muirhead earned the win on the mound, tossing 6.0 innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts.
  • Ketz Murray threw a scoreless inning of relief to slam the door.
  • Leitzel went a perfect 4-4 on the day with a double, driving in an RBI.
  • Cuadros and Jonathan McMath each had two hits and two RBI.
