LANCASTER, Pa. -- Marymount flag football brought home a pair of Atlantic East major awards and placed two on All-Conference Teams, announced by the AEC on Tuesday afternoon.
Avery DeFazio earned her second Elite 20 Award, with the coaching staff earning Co-Coaching Staff of the Year.
The Elite 20 Award is given to the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site. This is the second year in a row the junior has garnered the award, after she was named the winner at last year's AEC Championship.
The Marymount coaching staff led the Saints to a perfect 15-0 record and the Atlantic East Championship.Â
Cara Vollmer earned All-Conference quarterback after her stellar year leading the offense.Â
The sophomore threw for 1,814 yards throughout the season, notching 38 touchdowns alongside a 74% completion rate. She threw just five interception throughout the season.
On the ground, Vollmer netted 363 total yards, averaging 25.93 per game, with seven touchdowns.
Carly Rivera garnered All-Conference on both offense and defense.Â
On the offensive side of the field, Rivera finished the season with 600 total yards on 53 receptions, averaging 42.86 yards per game. She caught eight touchdowns. Just as effective on the ground, the dual-threat netted 100 yards with a pair of touchdowns.Â
On defense, Rivera had 54 solo tackles throughout the season, nabbing a trio of interceptions and broke up five total passes. She led the Saints in tackles throughout the year.
