Men's Lacrosse Overpowers Centenary to Stay Perfect in AEC

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - Marymount men's lacrosse moved to 3-0 in Atlantic East play Saturday afternoon, overpowering the Cyclones of Centenary by a final score of 25-2.

The win puts the Saints overall record to 9-4 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Saints opened up the game with three straight in the net to take an early advantage.
  • After a Centenary goal, Marymount went on a powerful nine-goal run, highlighted by five goals out of the stick of Gavin Taylorson.
  • The Saints went into the half up 13-2.
  • Marymount outscored Centenary 9-0 in the third quarter, with Carter Thompson and William Cate each netting a pair.
  • Three more goals in the fourth from the Saints spelled the end of the end, with the final score sitting comfortably in Marymount's favor.
  • 11 different Saints each scored in the one-sided win.
  • Taylorson ended the day with nine total points on seven goals and two assists. He now sits at 137 career goals, just 11 away from the top spot all-time in Marymount history.
  • Bryan Maguire finished off the afternoon with seven points on two goals and five assists, adding a caused turnover and a ground ball.
  • Ian Fructuoso had five points on four goals and an assist.
  • Thompson netted a trio of goals with a caused turnover and three ground balls.
  • Cate had two goals in the win.
  • Kai Goo, Evan Mata, Steven Noh, Creek Gausman, and Santino Rossitto each added a goal for Marymount.
  • Rossitto added an assist with two caused turnovers and a ground ball.
  • Robert Kirkland IV had two assists for the Saints.
  • Ethan Crawford notched a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls.
  • As a unit, the Saints went 25-30 on the face off, with Ben Cooper going a perfect 8-8 and picking up six ground balls.
UP NEXT
  • The Saints will take on Immaculata in a fight between the AEC heavyweights next Wednesday at Long Bridge Park.
  • Opening face off is set for 7 PM.
