BRIDGEWATER, Va. -- Marymount men's lacrosse took on the Bridgewater Eagles on Saturday afternoon, ultimately taking the tight affair 10-7.
With the win, the Saints improve to 3-1 on the season ahead of their next home game at Long Bridge Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints scored four times unanswered in the first quarter to open up the day, with goals coming out of the stick of Kai Goo, Bryan Maguire, Gavin Taylorson, and Robert Kirkland IV.
- Bridgewater scored a goal to end the first quarter, but the Saints answered with one of their own to open up the second with Maguire sinking his second of the day, this one unassisted.
- Santino Rossitto found Maguire with yet another open look, with Maguire sinking his third of the afternoon to give Marymount a 6-2 lead.
- One more Eagles goal sent the game into the half with Marymount up 6-3.
- Both teams traded goals to begin the second half of action, followed by two straight from the Eagles to put themselves within one.
- Marymount went on a 3-0 run through the end of the third quarter and into the fourth to take a 10-6 lead.
- Bridgewater salvaged just a single goal down the stretch, giving MU the win.
- Maguire posted six points on three goals and three assists, adding a caused turnover and a ground ball.
- Drew Bedard netted two goals in the win.
- Taylorson ended the day with three points on a goal and two assists, adding two ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Jacob Brooks earned the win in the net for Marymount, allowing just seven goals while notching 12 total saves.
- Grant Gallaway caused two turnovers and picked up a pair of ground balls.
- Cameron Glass went 8-15 in face offs, picking up a trio of ground balls.
- Rossitto had a goal and an assist for two points.
