Maguire Breaks a Pair of Records in Men's Lacrosse Home Win

ARLINGTON, Va. -- History was made at Long Bridge Park on Saturday, as senior Bryan Maguire broke a pair of single game records in men's lacrosse's dominant win over Manhattanville. 

Taking the contest by a final score of 24-12, the Saints improve their overall record to 6-3 on the season, as Atlantic East play looms around the corner. 

NOTABLE
  • Maguire, posting 13 assists and a goal for 14 total points, broke both the single game points and assists record in the game, overtaking the spot held by former teammate Jack Williams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After the Valiants got on the board first to open the game, the Saints went on to score six unanswered goals to claim a sizable lead, highlighted by six different Saints hitting the back of the net, three assisted by Maguire.
  • Manhattanville cut the lead in half with a pair of goals, but Mason Vandawater shot one into the goal to push momentum back to Marymount's side.
  • The Saints ended the first half on a five-goal run, capped off by Maguire assisting both Kai Goo and Robert Kirkland IV to give Marymount a commanding 13-6 lead.
  • The third quarter was all Marymount, as the Saints outscored the Valiants 7-2, with Ian Fructuoso netting three in the quarter.
  • Maguire found Evan Mata for his final point of the day in the ending minutes of the fourth quarter to secure his record breaking day.
  • Gavin Taylorson had five points on three goals and two assists.
  • Fructuoso ended the day with five goals, adding a caused turnover and two ground balls.
  • Howard Otto had three caused turnovers and four ground balls for the Saints.
  • Matthew Mulkins picked up six ground balls with a caused turnover.
  • Parker King caused a pair of turnovers, while picking up two ground balls.
  • Cameron Glass went 11-13 from the face off, picking up eight ground balls.
  • Winston Horshaw II went 8-11 from the face off with three ground balls.
  • Mata had three goals in the win.
  • Santino Rossitto had three goals for the Saints.
  • Roan Schumann and Kirkland IV added a pair of goals each.
  • Jacob Brooks earned the win in the goal with five saves.
  • Vandawater, on top of his goal, had a caused turnover and a ground ball.
UP NEXT
  • The Saints will play a pair at home next week, starting with Hood on Wednesday at 3 PM.
  • They will host Marywood for their AEC opener on Saturday at 12 PM. They will celebrate their seniors before the start of the contest.
