Arlington, Va. -- Marymount men's volleyball has opened their week with a Tuesday evening victory over Elizabethtown College. After this match-up, the Saints sit at 3-1 in conference play and 9-11 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount dominated over the Bluejays in points (50), kills (36), blocks (7), assists (29), and digs (21).
• Diego Peña lead the Marymount team with 12 kills and four aces. 
• Evan Cao was responsible for 27 assists and Ethan Li carried Marymount with six digs. 
• In the first set, the Saints and Bluejays danced, staying neck-and-neck. 
• The Saints claimed their first lead at point 8 with a kill by Ethan Li.
• They maintained their lead until the 13th point, where they faced a tie.
• After a kill by Luke Pogue and two errors from Elizabethtown, the Saints regained a lead. 
• The first set closed out 25-23.
• The second was similar to the first, with the two teams staying neck-in-neck.
• With the Saints claiming the first point and the Bluejays claiming the second, the two teams stayed within 5 points of eachother until the very last point.
• Set number two finished out with a score of 25-20 in favor of the Saints.
• The last set was not as close as the other two. 
• In set number three, the Saints gained their largest lead of nine points.
• A kill by Ethan Li gave Marymount a 10-1 lead.
• This trend continued, as multiple attack errors and kills from the Saints lead to a 19-10 lead. 
• The third set had a final score of 25-16.
• The Saints won all three sets over the Bluejays.

• Marymount plays their next match at home in a three-team tournament. Their first game is against Vassar College at 12:00 PM and their second is against Eastern Mennonite University at 5:00 PM.
