Men's Lacrosse Continues Winning Ways Over Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Marymount men's lacrosse won their fourth-straight on Saturday afternoon, edging out the Westminster Titans on the road.

The win puts the Saints' record at 5-1 on the season ahead of coming back to Long Bridge Park on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Westminster opened the game with two unanswered goals to take a 2-0 lead. Bryan Maguire cut the lead in half at the 6:25 mark, nabbing the pass from Evan Mata to secure his first goal of the day.
  • Westminster pushed their lead back out to two, but back-to-back goals from Santino Rossitto and Mason Vandawater evened up the tally with 4:33 left in the first quarter.
  • The Titans scored once to close the first and another to open the second to get back out to a small lead.
  • With Westminster up by two, the Saints began clicking. A five-goal run down the stretch of the first half and through the beginning of the third quarter, highlighted by Maguire collecting three points in the offensive spurt, gave Marymount a 9-6 lead.
  • With Westminster still pushing, Vandawater scored the dagger off the pass from Robert Kirkland IV that would prove to be the difference maker.
  • Maguire continued his strong season, notching six total points on three goals and three assists with two ground balls.
  • Kirkland IV secured three points with a goal and two assists, adding a ground ball.
  • Cameron Glass went 18-20 out of the face off, picking up 16 ground balls.
  • Vandawater had two goals and an assist for three points.
  • Rossitto and Gavin Taylorson each had two goals in the win.
  • Mata had a goal and an assist.
  • Ian Fructuoso notched a pair of assists.
  • Ryan Casagrande caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls.
  • Jacob Brooks earned the win in the goal with 12 total saves, causing a turnover, and picking up four ground balls.

  • The Saints will square off with University of Hartford on Wednesday at 4 PM at Long Bridge Park.
