Winchester, VA- Marymount battled it out with Shenandoah, each earning a win in the doubleheader match up. Game one resulted in a Saints' win of 7-6 and Game two was taken by the Hornets 5-7.
After games five and six, the Saints hold a record of 2-4.

GAME ONE: 7-6
  • Marymount's Kammie Brown stepped up to the plate first for the Saints against Shenandoah. Brown hit a double to left center, earning her spot on second base to start the game. Samantha Cinotti continued the momentum started by Brown, earning a triple from a hit to right field that saw Brown home. Kaylynn Johnson was third to bat for the Saints, gaining a place on first by taking one for the team and getting hit by a pitch. The second run for Marymount was gained by Cinotti taking advantage of a throwing error by the Hornets and advancing home. The next three batters for the Saint's all resulted in outs ending the Saints' at bat. The Saints' field players held the hornets to no runs in the bottom of the first going into the second with a 2-1 score.
  • The second at bat for the Saints ended with three up three down and no runs scored in the top of the second. The Hornets put one up on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second, refusing to let the Saints gain a large advantage in runs.
  • Cinotti started the bats swinging for Marymount in the third, singling through the right side of the field. Cinotti quickly followed this up by stealing second and placing herself in a prime location to score. Johnson responded by hitting a double to advance Cinotti home, then advanced to third on a throwing error. The next three at bats resulted in three outs with Johnson left on base. Marymount faced four batters in the bottom of the third, only allowing one on base and no runs home. The third ended with a score of 3-1
  • The Saints started the fourth with the first two batters grounding out and striking out, but the Saints did not let that end their at bat. Jenna Jew singled to center field followed by brown singling through the left. Cinotti was walked making the bases full for Johnson to hit a single that would send both Jew and Brown home while advancing Cinotti to second. The third out was gained on a fielder's choice to end the at bat. It was three up three down for the Saints in the field, ending the fourth with a score of 5-1.
  • The fifth resulted in no runs for Marymount but was the start of a rally for Shenandoah. The Hornets scored 5 additional runs in the fifth, overtaking the Saints' lead 5-6.
  • The sixth inning ended with two hits by the Saints and one hit by the Hornets, but no runs for either team.
  • The Saints reclaimed their lead in the top of the seventh after a double that placed Ashleigh Mannion on second. This put her in position for Kaylee Atkins to bring home with her single up the middle. Atkins advanced on the out attempt that resulted in Mannion scoring, putting her in a position for her pinch runner Leila Hernandez to score. Hernandez scored after advancing to third on a wild pitch and being brought in by Samantha Papp's bunt. The Hornets attempted to catch the Saint's but were unable to gain any runs in the seventh. The game ended in favor of the Saints with a 7-6 score.

Samantha Cinotti was up to bat three times for the Saints where she gained three hits and two runs. Kaylee Atkins was the pitcher awarded the win for the game.
GAME TWO: 5-7
  • The Saints swung first in game two earning two runs in the top of the first. The Saints started the inning with two outs but followed up with a hit by Cinotti who stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. This put her in prime scoring location. The Hornets did not allow the Saints to be the only ones up on the board for long, scoring one run during their at bat starting the game. First inning score 2-1.
  • The second inning saw little action in at bats for either team with no hits for the Saints and one hit for the Hornets. Neither team was able to score during the second.
  • Jew started the third for Marymount earning a spot on base by holding her swing, resulting in a walk. Jew stole second, making room on first for Brown who was walked after, putting two on base for the Saints. Cinotti was up next hitting a ball that would earn her a spot on first, advance Jew to third, and put out Brown. Johnson was walked during her at bat, creating a bases loaded opportunity. All runners advanced on a wild pitch putting another run on the board for the Saints by Jew. Next up, Atkins grounded out but was able to send Cinotti home. Shenandoah did not allow Marymount to score all the runs in the inning, scoring one of their own making the score 4-2.
