ARLINGTON, Va. - Playing for the first time this season at Long Bridge Park, Marymount men's lacrosse earned a decisive win over the Greensboro College on Saturday, 19-7.
With the win, the Saints improve to 2-1 on the youthful season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Greensboro opened up the contest with a pair of goals, but the Saints answered with four of their own throughout the end of the first period and into the second, highlighted by four separate Saints finding the back of the net.
- After the Pride answered with a lone goal, the Saints powered four-straight again, with Bryan Maguire and Gavin Taylorson each notching their second of the day in the run.
- The Saints opened up the second half with seven unanswered goals. Taylorson, continuing his strong day, netted three goals in the offensive stretch.
- Marymount continued to hold off the visiting Pride, ultimately taking the convincing home win.
- Maguire led the Saints with nine total points on four goals and five assists.
- Taylorson notched five goals overall on the day.
- Evan Mata collected four total points on two goals and two assists.
- Mason Vandawater had a goal and an assist.
- Spencer Carfang caused a pair of turnovers with four ground balls.
- Joseph LaForgia caused three turnovers and picked up a trio of ground balls.
- Winston Horshaw II went a perfect 8-8 in face offs with four ground balls.
- Six other Saints had a goal in the decisive win.
