ARLINGTON, Va. -- In a night celebrating
Winston Moore Jr. as he graduates from Marymount men's basketball, the Saints dominated the Pratt Cannoneers 79-57 in front of the home crowd.
With the win, the Saints finish the regular season 16-9 overall, 9-3 in the AEC. They will await to see where they fall in the Atlantic East Tournament seeding later tonight.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On his night to be recognized, Moore Jr. came out of the gates hot, driving down the lane for a layup to get the offense rolling before sinking three-straight three pointers to give Marymount an 11-6 lead.
- Anthoney McClary found Muhsin Muhammad with an open look underneath the basket to push Marymount to a four-point lead as the two teams battled in the early going.
- Marcus Stubbs sank a three with under four minutes to go to keep Marymount in the lead heading into the final minutes of the half.
- One more score from Stubbs gave the Saints a seven-point advantage heading into the locker room.
- A pair of free throws from Reuben McEachern propelled Marymount to an 11-point lead, quickly followed by another three from Stubbs to keep the Saints moving.
- A three off the hands of Isaac Harris gave Marymount an 18-point lead with just over four minutes left.
- The Saints closed out the game to secure the win.
- Stubbs and Harris each had 18 for the night, both adding a pair of assists.
- Moore Jr. had 11, going 4-4 from the floor and 3-3 from beyond the arc.
- Muhammad dropped eight from off of the bench.
- McClary pulled down a team-high six rebounds, adding four assists and five points.
