ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount men's basketball suffered their first Atlantic East loss of the season at the hands of Gwynedd Mercy inside of Converse Family Fieldhouse, 76-70.
The Saints now sit at 15-7 overall on the season, 8-1 in AEC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Griffins jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead, Jase Mosley answered with a three to cut into the slight lead.
- Still trailing, Reuben McEachern grabbed an offensive board and sank the layup to even up the score at 10.
- A three from Miles Phillips gave the Saints a two-point lead with under 10 minutes left in the first half.
- Down 29-28, Phillips and Marcus Stubbs went back-to-back with a pair of three to give Marymount a five-point advantage.
- The Saints held onto their lead down the stretch of the first half.
- Stubbs drained a second-half opening three to extend Marymount's lead.
- The Griffins evened up the score with just under 16 minutes left in the game.
- It was back-and-forth throughout the final minutes, but Gwynedd Mercy narrowed out the Saints to take the game.
- Stubbs had a team-high 16 points in the loss with three rebounds, three assists, and a steal.
- Phillips dropped 14 with four rebounds and two assists.
- Mosley and Muhsin Muhammad each had nine.
- McEachern had three steals alongside his five points.
- James Bell had a block and a steal with six points and four rebounds.
UP NEXT
- Marymount will hit the road this Saturday, traveling to Marywood to take on the Pacers at 3 PM.
- They will be back in Converse Family Fieldhouse Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 PM for Senior Day.
