SCRANTON, Pa. -- Marymount men's basketball fell in the final seconds against Marywood on Saturday afternoon, as the Pacers sank a defining three to propel over the Saints.
With the loss, the Saints now hold a 15-8 overall record, 8-2 in the Atlantic East.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Max Pearcy opened the contest with a three to spark some early offense for the Saints.
- Marymount went on a quick 9-2 run, still in the early minutes, to take an 11-5 lead, capped off by a three from Marcus Stubbs.
- Pearcy drained another three to give Marymount an 11-point advantage with 15 minutes left in the first half.
- Marymount continued to hold tight to their lead, with Stubbs sinking another three in the final minutes of the first half to keep momentum high.
- MU went into the half holding onto an eight-point lead.
- Jase Mosely found James Bell underneath the basket with an open look to open up the second half scoring.
- With 10 minutes left in the contest, the Pacers closed in and put themselves within five.
- The Pacers jumped ahead with 17 seconds left on the clock with a clutch three and Marymount was unable to answer, punching their second AEC loss of the season.
- Stubbs dropped a team-high 13 points with four assists, a block, and a steal.
- Mosley and Pearcy each had 10 in the loss, with Mosley notching a double-double, adding 10 rebounds.
- Reuben McEachern had five assists and steals.
UP NEXT
- Marymount will stay on the road next Tuesday, heading to Neumann for a 7 PM tip off.
- They will be back home for Senior Day next Friday, Feb. 21, at 7 PM against Pratt.
