Men's Basketball Overcomes Immaculata in Front of Home Crowd

ARLINGTON, Va. -- In front of a big home crowd, which included members of the 1999-00 men's basketball team who were inducted into the Hall of Fame just last night, the Saints put on a show to take down the Mighty Macs, 98-64.

With the win, the Saints improve to 13-6 overall on the season, still perfect in the Atlantic East at 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Miles Phillips found Isaac Harris with an open look to drain a three in the first possession of the game to get the Saints' offense moving.
  • After some battling, the Mighty Macs evened up the score at 11 with just over 15 minutes left of action, but a three from Reuben McEachern and a quick bucket from Ronier Peters gave Marymount a five-point lead.
  • A three from Marcus Stubbs and a dish from Phillips to Harris with an open look in the lane pushed Marymount ahead 30-20.
  • A contested made layup and converted and-one from Muhsin Muhammad pushed the Saints' lead to 17 with over six minutes left in the first half.
  • A tip in from Jase Mosley gave the Saints a 45-25 lead.
  • One final bucket from Phillips in the first half sent the teams to the locker room with Marymount holding a 25-point advantage.
  • Immaculata came out of the halftime break adding pressure, pushing the Saints to find a way to get back to their scoring ways.
  • Muhammad, followed my Mosley, pushed the lead to 22 points.
  • Stubbs dished out a clean no-look pass to Joshua Hughes who slammed down the dunk to put an exclamation point on the afternoon.
  • Hughes followed up the big play with a layup off the pass from McEachern to give Marymount a 31-point lead.
  • Caleb McNeely got in on the action, sinking a three with under two minutes left in the contest to all but finish off the decisive afternoon.
  • Harris had a team-high 19 points in the win, going 7-9 from the floor, with three rebounds and assists.
  • Muhammad had 14 with five rebounds.
  • Stubbs and Peters each added 10 points.
  • McEachern had nine points and eight assists in the win.
  • Mosley grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.
