VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Marymount women's basketball move to 1-2 on the season after grinding out a 59-55 victory over Washington College on Saturday afternoon at the Townebank Arena. The Saints used a dominant second quarter and a balanced scoring effort to secure the win and close out their weekend in Virginia Beach.
NOTABLE
- Kaylah Barr delivered a standout performance, scoring 33 points on 10-of-21 shooting while going 11-of-16 at the free-throw line. She also added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in a complete two-way effort.
- Catie Kolwey controlled the glass all afternoon, posting a dominant 15 rebounds to go along with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting and 3-of-10 at the line.
- Elsa Meysselle contributed 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block, impacting the game defensively and as a facilitator.
- Crystal Wright added 4 points and 4 rebounds, providing steady minutes on both ends.
- Aaliyah Thrash scored 8 points, knocking down a pair of threes while grabbing 4 rebounds.
- Cara Vollmer and Sakirah Sterling each chipped in with defensive pressure, combining for 5 steals.
- Marymount out-rebounded Washington College 47–38, including 38 defensive rebounds, helping limit second-chance opportunities.
- The Saints capitalized at the stripe, going 19-for-32, including Barr's 11 made free throws.
