ARLINGTON, Va. — Marymount women's soccer showed resilience in a second-half comeback attempt but ultimately fell 3–2 to Washington College on Wednesday night at Long Bridge Park. After conceding three early goals, the Saints stormed back with two unanswered in the second half but ran out of time in their final non-conference match up of the season.
NOTABLE
- Arianna Blanco and Nicole Alvarado each scored in the second half, leading a strong push that nearly brought the Saints level after trailing by three.
- Blanco converted a penalty kick in the 74th minute, marking her 8th goal of the season.
- Alvarado jump started the comeback effort in the 72nd minute with her third goal of the season, finishing off a well driven free kick just over the Shorewomen's defensive wall.
- Sarah Robinson anchored the defense in the second half with four key saves, keeping Marymount within striking distance as the momentum shifted in the Saints' favor.
- The Saints out shot Washington 6–3 in the second half and displayed composure and energy down the stretch, outpacing the Shorewomen in both possession and chances created.
