ASTON, Pa. -- Marymount women's basketball jumped over the .500 mark in Atlantic East play with a win at Neumann on Wednesday evening, 57-52.
With the win, the Saints improve to 6-11 on the year, now 3-2 in the Atlantic East.
NOTABLE
- Samantha Bulik went 5-8 from the floor en route to 15 points on the night, adding five rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal.
- Kaylah Barr dropped 12 in the win with four assists and a block.
- Kelly Ceroll led the Saints on the glass with 11 rebounds.
- Catie Kolwey grabbed nine rebounds and dropped eight points.Â
- Ella Morrison had seven points and rebounds with two blocks and a steal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount jumped out to a quick seven point lead, with Bulik driving down the lane to give the Saints early momentum.
- The Knights clawed their way back to even the tally, but a three from Jaylah Thompson put the Saints back on top.
- MU ended the first quarter with an eight point run, capped off by a three from Bulik, to take a 20-12 lead into the second quarter.
- The Saints struggled to get anything going in the second quarter, but held Neumann at bay to take the lead into the half.
- A drive down the lane from Grace Damato gave Marymount a seven point advantage in the third quarter of action.
- Continuing to trade shots, the game had a difference of just three, with the Saints on top, heading into the decisive quarter.
- Bulik and Kolwey each scored to open up the fourth quarter to give the Saints some cushion.
- Down the stretch, the Saints held on to take the AEC win.
