Women's Volleyball Drops Two to Open Weekend

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Saints opened up their weekend down the road at the Worthington Classic, hosted by Gallaudet University on Friday evening.

Playing a pair of matches, MU fell in both contests to move their record to 2-13 on the season, with chances to bounce back tomorrow.

BETHEL 3 - MU 0

NOTABLE
  • Sophomore Harper Wolf continued her hot streak, leading the offense for the Saints in the opening match with 13 kills, hitting .205, adding eight digs and two blocks.
  • Maya Harris put down eight kills with two digs.
  • Elizabeth Stackpole shot down four block assists in the loss with a pair of kills.
  • Ava Humphries dug out 12 digs, with Eliza Freeman notching 11.
  • Natalie Bialecki put up 30 assists in the first match of the evening.
CATHOLIC 3 - MU 1

NOTABLE
  • Wolf again led the offensive charge for the Saints, powering 15 kills in the nightcap with three total blocks and two digs, good for 17.0 total points.
  • Emily Genau and Sabrina Schoeberlein each notched seven kills in the Pope's Cup matchup.
  • Humphries (15) and Freeman (14) were again the leaders in the digs department for the Saints.
  • Bialecki had 38 assists.
  • Harris added eight kills on her line for the day.
UP NEXT
  • The Saints will round out their stint at the Worthington Classic tomorrow.
  • They will play host school Gallaudet first at 11 AM, looking to bounce back from their loss earlier in the season.
  • MU will finish play against Lynchburg at 1 PM before taking the short bus trip home.
