HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a pair of scoreless innings to open the matchup, the Saints plated four runs in the top of the third inning to grab momentum early. Quincy Via led off the inning with a single and quickly stole second to put himself in scoring position with nobody away. After two quick outs from the Immaculata starter, Jonathan McMath and Kevin Knoess worked back-to-back walks to extend the inning. Alec Reilly came through with the clutch two-out triple to clear the bases and plate all three runners. Chad Singleton followed Reilly with a single to right center to round out the scoring for the inning.
- After a shutdownn inning from starter Parker Casselberry, who was settling in on the mound, the Saints kept the offensive momentum going with another big inning in the top of the fourth. With one away, Via punched another single, with Bobby Leitzel following it up with a single to put two on. Ryan Cuadros scored them both with a double, and later in the inning Knoess knocked in Cuadros with a single to plate three runs in the frame.
