ARLINGTON – Marymount men's lacrosse repeated the script from last weekend against Marywood as the Saints blew open a tight game at halftime with a 12-2 run in the second half to win convincingly on Saturday in the first round of the Atlantic East Tournament, 19-7.
NOTABLE
- Marymount has now advanced to the Atlantic East semifinals for the fourth season in a row.
- Chris Bochilo finished with a career-high six points (4G, 2A).
- Jack Williams inched closer to Marymount's all-time points record with four more today (1G, 3A). He now sits just three points away from breaking assistant coach Clark Akers' record of 220.
- Gavin Taylorson and Ciaran Connolly ripped home three goals while Bryan Maguire, Kai Goo, and Ian Fructuoso each had two.
- Jack Mattimore had three caused turnovers and scooped up two ground balls.
- Cameron Glass was 14-of-18 on faceoffs and scooped eight groundballs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints trailed 2-1 early and then after building a 5-2 advantage, Marywood scored three unanswered goals to draw even with less than five minutes in the first half.
- Marymount closed the half strong with two goals in the final 15 seconds to take a 7-5 lead into halftime.
- The Saints scored the next seven goals to build a comfortable advantage at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
- Marymount stayed strong on both sides down the stretch and walked away with a 19-7 win.
