SALISBURY, Md. - Marymount baseball took the loss in a back-and-forth affair with #5 Salisbury on Friday afternoon, 9-7.
The Saints move to 27-8 overall on the season with the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints took the lead in the top of the second inning, plating a pair, with Bobby Leitzel notching an RBI in the frame.
- The Sea Gulls evened up the tally after a single run in the second and third innings.
- Leitzel punched an RBI single in the top of the fourth, followed it up by scoring himself with heads up baserunning, to give Marymount the lead again.
- A five-run bottom of the fourth gave Salisbury a 7-4 lead.
- An RBI walk from Quincy Via and a two-RBI single from Ryan Cuadros tied up the scoreboard for the Saints in the top of the fifth inning.Â
- Two more runs from Salisbury told the story the rest of the way, putting the Saints on the short end of the contest.
- Via went 3-for-5 with a double out of the leadoff spot with an RBI.
- Jay Beavers went 3-for-4 with a double with a pair of runs scored.
- Leitzel drove in a pair of RBI.
- Cuadros also knocked in two runs for the Saints in the loss.
- Alec Reilly collected a pair of hits.
- Kyle Lewis took the loss on the mound, throwing 3.0 innings while striking out five.
- Ryan Mariani threw 1.2 innings out of the bullpen with a strikeout.

- The Saints will play their final non-conference matchup against Shenandoah next Tuesday.
