GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA-- Marymount Softball hit the road on Sunday to resume their unfinished game against the Griffins from 4/9, followed by a full non-conference game. Resuming the game in the 10th inning, the Saints took the win 2-1 but fell short in the non-conference game 6-0.
GAME ONE
- The Griffins broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth inning after scoring an unearned run on a wild pitch.Â
- The Saints tied the game in the top of the seventh after Samantha Richtol singled to left field and J. Burch scored.
- Shanyn Burch pitched a total of 9.0 innings, putting up three strikeouts and zero earned runs after seeing a total of 34 batters in this extended game.Â
- In the resumed 10th inning, te Saints claimed the victory over the Griffins with a single up the middle from Kaylee Atkins, allowing Ashleigh Mannion to score. Unable to score any runs in the bottom of the 10th, the Griffins fell short 2-1.
GAME TWO
- The Saints were unable to score any runs in this game. The Griffins dominated with a total of six runs and claimed the win to complete the series.
- Despite having zero runs, Marymount totaled six hits with notable doubles coming from Sara Emig and Jaclyn Burch.Â
- Emma McCormack pitched a total of 3.0 innings and faced 18 batters. Bailey Demusz finished out the game, pitching a total of 3.0 innings, She put up four strikeouts and zero earned runs after seeing 11 batters.Â
UP NEXT
- The Saints will play their last regular season doubleheader at home on Wednesday. They will face Catholic University at 4 PM and 6 PM in Barcroft Park.
- The first rounds of the Atlantic East Conference games will take place on May 3rd and 4th. The championship games will occur on May 10th and 11th.Â
