TYSONS, Va. - #22 Marymount baseball kept it rolling on Wednesday night, beating RV Mary Washington 10-3 in front of their home crowd.
With their 10th straight win, the Saints improve to 26-5 overall on the season ahead of a big conference set this coming weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless top of the first, the Saints put up a run in the bottom frame with an RBI single from Ryan Cuadros, scoring Bobby Leitzel who singled earlier in the prior at-bat.
- After the Eagles plated three in the top of the second, Marymount answered with a four spot in the bottom half of the inning, highlighted by a bases-clearing double off the bat of Quincy Via. The score sat at 5-3 after two completed innings of work.
- Via knocked in another run in the bottom of the third to keep the Saints rolling.
- Marymount plated four more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a big advantage, highlighted by an RBI knock off the bat of Chad Singleton.
- The Saints threw up zeroes the rest of the way to secure the national stage win.
- Gabriel Sebastino earned his first collegiate win on the mound, going 6.0 innings allowing no earned runs.
- Via led the way with five RBI, going 3-for-5 at the dish for the Saints with a double.
- Leitzel knocked a pair of hits with an RBI.
- Cuadros went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
- Kevin Knoess had two hits in the win.
- Jonathan McMath, Alec Reilly, and Daniel Fernandez each collected a hit.
- Owen Mead pitched a scoreless inning of relief with a strikeout.
- Kyle Smith and Sean Quinn each added a scoreless inning out of the bullpen, both striking out two.
UP NEXT
- The Saints will get back to AEC action this weekend on the road, traveling to Centenary for a three-game set between Friday and Saturday.
