PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Marymount men's lacrosse ended its tough non-conference slate on a high note with an impressive 14-9 road win over Manhattanville on Saturday afternoon.Â
NOTABLE
- Jack Williams had four goals and two assists, surpassing the 100-assist plateau in the process. The senior now has 185 career points, eight away from moving past Paul Schiavone for second all-time at Marymount. He still has a little way to go surpass assistant coach Clark Akers (220 points).Â
- Chris Bochilo matched a career-high in goals (four) and points (five).Â
- Other key offensive standouts included Bryan Maguire (3G, 1A), Gavin Taylorson (2G, 1A), and Mason Vandawater (1G, 2A).Â
- As a team, Marymount outshot Manhattanville 60-24 and held a 43-23 advantage in ground balls. Â
- Cameron Glass finished 10-of-15 on face-offs.Â
- Jack Mattimore caused three turnovers and matched a career-high with seven ground balls.Â
- In addition to recording nine saves in the net, Jacob Brooks added his first career assist on a third-quarter goal by Taylorson.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount made a statement early as the Saints raced out to a 6-1 lead in the early part of the second quarter.Â
- Manhattanville fought back and cut the deficit to 7-4 at halftime.Â
- A pair of goals by Maguire, including one as time expired in the third quarter, gave MU an 11-6 lead with one quarter remaining.Â
- The defense held up in the final frame as Marymount picked up a solid 14-9 win.Â
