Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Men's Volleyball Drops Pair at Misericordia

DALLAS, PA -- Marymount men's volleyball hit the road this Saturday to face Stevens and Misericordia. Going in with a 14-0 record, the Saints unfortunately dropped both games, 3-2 and 3-0.

GAME ONE
  • Esteban Jauregui led the Saints offensively with a total of eight kills and two service aces. 
  • Luke Pogue defended the net with four blocks. 
  • Diego Pena and Evan Cao contributed with 17 total assists each.
  • After a slow start in the first frame, the Saints took the next two frames with notable kills from Will Wright and Pogue along with strong assists from Cao.
  • Stevens claimed the fourth frame, pushing the game to a decision set in which Marymount fell short 15-5.
GAME TWO
  • Luke Morris totaled 11 kills, hitting at a .318 clip. Mason Moore was close behind with nine. 
  • Luke Pogue put up four blocks in this match.
  • In a quick three set match, the Saints had a rocky start in the first frame, falling short 25-12. Despite this shorting, Moore contributed with three kills and Pena with two. 
  • The second frame brought more success with a six point consecutive run, tying the game at 11-11, assists from Cao and strong attacks from Guan and Pickering, pushed the score well past 25. Ultimately, the Cougars claimed the frame 30-28. 
  • The Cougars swiftly claimed victory in the final frame, ending with a score of 25-16. 
UP NEXT
  • The Saints had an amazing start to their season which included breaking the program's record with a 14-0 start.
  • Later this week, they will travel to Thousand Oaks, California to face Rivier University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and University of California, Santa Cruz, and California Lutheran University.
